Seagate Knowledge Link Adds dtSearch

Seagate Software needed a means of providing integrated technical support information on its entire product line to end-users. Furthermore they needed to be able to update that information on a frequent basis through the Internet. And Seagate Software needed to make this information quickly and easily full-text searchable through boolean and other search option.

The product that Seagate Software developed to do this was Seagate Knowledge Link. Knowledge Link is a locally stored knowledge base of articles relating to Seagate Software's products. It supplies the same information that Seagate Software's own technical support agents use, and is updated with new information every two weeks via email.

For searching of the Knowledge Link database, Seagate Software chose the dtSearchText Retrieval Engine. Using the dtSearch Engine API, Seagate was able to seamlessly integrate full-text searching of the Knowledge Link database on a dynamic basis.
