What
are the limitations of SQL Server 2005 Express edition?
SQL Server 2005 Express will use up to 1GB of RAM, 1 Processor and allow
up to 4 GB of database size even if there are more resources available.
What are the advantages of SQL Server 2005 Express edition?
It's FREE. It is supported by Microsoft. It has a long development history
and is upgradable to SQL Server 2005. See here for sytem
requirements.
What
features does EnBase have for security?
EnBase has three permission classes: Administrator, Reader, Editor.
All members of a group can read any Topic in Groups to which they are
members, only Editors and Administrators can edit Topic content; only
Administrators can delete or rename topics (as a further safeguard these
actions require passwords).
Only Administrators can access the Administrator page, this page allows
the User names, Groups, permissions and passwords to be set.
What
languages can EnBase index and search?
EnBase Topics can be written in any language that the machine allows,
all data is stored in Unicode format and the browser should be set for
automatic detection of encoding or UTF-8. By default the indexing is
done without using a stop-word list, the searching uses English stemming
rules to conflate the search query. Any of the Language
Packs can be used with EnBase to add stemming in other languages.
What
editing tags can be used
EnBase recognises standard HTML tags, we figure if you have to spend
a few minutes learning tags then you might as well learn tags for which
there is an international standard rather than some quirky encoding.
For example to make a word bold you add three tags in front <B>
and four tags behind like this </B>.
The EnBase Sandbox contains more examples if you like to play with HTML,
but remember, CONTENT is what counts. If you aren't happy about spending
time learning tags to change the content's appearance then DON'T, maybe
someone else in the group will do it, if is important, otherwise don't
worry about it.
The point of the Wiki concept is QUICK communication! If your boss thinks
it's important no doubt he will hire a web designer to improve the appearance...
but don't hold your breath. The bottom line is IMPROVED COMMUNICATION,
so our philosphy is to keep it simple and don't waste time on non essentials.
How
are hyperlinks added?
Hyperlinks to other Topics are created automatically whenever a word
is written in CamelCase.
EnBase is unique because it also understands CamelCase in Cyrillic text
as well as Latin text.
Choice
of Topic names?
These need to be CamelCase.
if you forget and write two words spaced apart or joined with underscores,
EnBase will ignore them, it will also automatically capitalise the first
word if you have forgotten.
How can I search Images?
EnBase allows you to add text to each image (for the technically minded
it automatically creates HTML ALT tags for images).
