Citeknet's IFilter Explorer is able to list all installed IFilters and can be downloaded from here www.citeknet.com

Q. How do I set up dtSearch Desktop to use an installed IFilter?

A.
From the Options menu select Preferences > Indexing Options > File Types. Click on the New... button and enter a suitable name - for example to use a compiled Help file IFilter enter CHM then press OK . In the File type list select IFilter, then in the box below enter the filename pattern to identify the file extension, for example *.chm. Check the box "Override all other file type detection methods for these files", then click on the dialog OK button. You will now need to update your indexes so that they include the new file types.
