New dtSearch 7.22 range* now shipping
The new 7.22 range is now available from UK stock. For developers there are enhancements to the dtSearch Engine and the Spider component to include a new .NET 2.0 API for Visual Studio .NET 2005. A new results sort option, interface enhancements and a way to specify a delimiter between multiple instances of a stored field in a single document. dtSearch Desktop and Network now have a new option to view PDF files as plain text instead of using Adobe Reader.
The latest version also has many minor improvements and bug fixes in document filters for Excel, PDF, .gz, RTF and Unicode.

- dtSearch Desktop 7.21 was included in a review of Desktop Search products in this month's PC PRO (UK edition). dtSearch Desktop was one of only 2 out of the 10 products reviewed that achieved a 100% accuracy score (12 out of 12). Unfortunately the published tables contained a number of errors; Thunderbird e-mail was shown as not supported, in fact all MBOX e-mail types including Thunderbird are supported by dtSearch. The table also indicated that Firefox is not supported; dtSearch Desktop is not browser based and will work alongside ALL available browsers including Firefox, it does require Internet Explorer to be installed on the machine but does not require it to be the default browser. Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian stemming added to Language Packs
Support for Serbian (Cyrillic and Latin), Croatian and Bosnian (Latin) has been added to the LEP400 and LEP403 Language Extension Packs. Use of the language packs with dtSearch substantially improves recall when search expansion using stemming is used. More information and pricing can be found at our Language page. This brings the total stemming languages supported by the Language Packs to 28, which we believe surpasses all other products worldwide. This latest version also has a multilingual installer (English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch).
New dtSearch 7.21 release adds IFilter support!
The new 7.21 range include an adapter to use installed IFilters*. IFilters are components that extract text from documents and are available from many companies, these enable dtSearch end-users and developers to expand the range of document types that can be searched. For example, when you install Microsoft OneNote, an IFilter is installed to enable searching of *.one files.
