Title: My dtSearch application cannot find the stemming.dat file

Ref: ED103
Last updated: 16th August 2007

This can happen if the dtSearch Engine is looking for the stemming.dat file in a folder other than the \bin folder under
where
the dtSearch product was installed.

If you are a developer using dtSearch Engine please see this dtSearch FAQ article: http://support.dtsearch.com/faq/dts0190.htm

If you have installed a Language Extension Pack and your dtSearch application still appears to use the default
English stemming file you may
need to change the path where the dtSearch Engine (dten600.dll) expects to find the stemming.dat file.

Solution:

1. The Stemming Language Selector version 2 has a debug feature that will create a log file that reports the paths it is using to
find the stemming files a
nd where it creates the new stemming.dat file.

If you are using an older version of the Stemming Language Selector application please request an upgrade.
